    Poker Run benefits Doto Foundation

    New London metal guitarist Joe Doto passed away in February at the age of 44. On Saturday at 11 a.m., a Poker Run/Music Festival, with raffles, prizes and food, will help the family defray funeral costs and fund The Joe Doto Music Foundation, an outfit helping area kids to acquire instruments and receive music lessons.

    The Poker Run is a shotgun start, and participating stops are the Brown Derby (158 Norwich-New London Turpike, Uncasville), Basement Cafe (278 W. Thames, Norwich), Hooties (98 West Broad St., Pawcatuck), Picardi's Pub (120 Boston Post Road, Waterford), and the Exchange (74 Bank St., New London).

    It ends at the Birdseye (187 Jefferson Ave., New London), where last cards are drawn at 3 p.m. and live music kicks off at 1:20 p.m. Bands perforing include Mark Aguilar (1:20 p.m.), Ronnie Barnes (2 p.m.), T-Ray Taylor (2:35 p.m.), Marino & Son (3:10 p.m.), D.O.T. (3:45 p.m.), Losing Streak (4:10 p.m.), Destined to Burn (4:45 p.m.), Brothers in Blood (5:20 p.m.), The Montauk Project (6:05 p.m.), Shore City (7 p.m.), Missguydid (7:45 p.m.), WolfGhost (8:45 p.m.), and Sinners, Inc. (9:30 p.m.).
