Wendy Benchley to talk sharks in Stonington Borough Wednesday night

Stonington — Conservationist Wendy Benchley, whose late husband Peter wrote “Jaws”, will appear at the La Grua Center in the borough Wednesday at 6 p.m. to discuss “Protecting Sharks & Our Seas Storytelling and Policy-Making: A Lifelong Journey in Protecting Sharks and Our Seas.”

“She will share her unique insights, perspective, and family archives from the past 40 years of traveling and diving— from the Jaws phenomenon, to the important changes and threats she has personally witnessed, to the smarter and stronger environmental and marine policies she has fought to enact with government officials, NGOs, and other civic leaders,” states the center about the event.

There will also be a question and answer session. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/storytelling-and-policy-making-protecting-sharks-and-our-seas-tickets-35023779066.
