Groton -- Town police, assisted by The Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, arrested two local men on drug charged Friday and seized 96 bags of heroin packaged for sale.

Casey Scott, 28, of 425 Bridge St., was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of heroin and sale of heroin. Zachary Stewart, 27, of 425 Bridge St., was charged with possession of heroin.

Police said that while conducting surveillance at a local hotel, officers observed suspicious activity in the parking lot, investigated and determined there had been a narcotics transaction between Scott and Stewart. Detectives seized heroin weighing approximately 19.8 grams, crack cocaine, and cash.
