Vertigo kicks off reunion tour in New London
In an area dominated by an incredible per capita ratio of quality original music, it's often ignored - or harrumphed! - that there is much value in a good cover band. Consider Vertigo, a group that broke up four years ago after providing many Friday and Saturday soundtracks for clubs full of giddy partiers all over the region. Comprised of T-Ray Taylor (vocals/guitar), Ben Escobedo (lead guitar), Mike Golembeski (bass) and John Van Ness (drums/vocals), Vertigo sonically nailed such diverse acts as Jane's Addiction, Radiohead, Blur, Dave Matthews and Stone Temple Pilots.
Fans will be delighted Vertigo is gearing up for a series of fall/winter reunion dates. The first show takes place at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the Branding Iron, 95 Pequot Ave., New London. It's free. For more information, call (860) 326-7052.
