'Legends in Concert' returns to Foxwoods
You can’t see Elvis Presley or Michael Jackson in concert anymore … or can you?
The impersonators in “Legends in Concert” are known for giving almost-like-the-real-thing performances of not only those two now-gone icons but also stars like Tina Turner (who has retired), Elton John and Cher.
This elaborate tribute show returns to Foxwoods for a run of shows starting Friday and continuing through Jan. 2.
And fans of Jimmy Fallon's "Clash of the Cover Bands" series will want to note: the performers who portray Tina Turner and Cher in the show at Foxwoods recently competed on "Cover Bands" against each other. We won't say who won. But at the Foxwoods gigs, Lori Mitchell-Gay will go all Tina Turner, and Annika Starander Weaver will turn back time with her version of Cher. If you saw that episode of "Cover Bands," you know these two tribute artists are knockouts.
“Legends in Concert,” Great Cedar Showroom, Foxwoods; showtimes vary: visit foxwoods.com; tickets $17.50-$45; foxwoods.com, ticketmaster.com.
