UPDATED: Power restored to 5,000 Norwich customers

Norwich -- Power was knocked out to 5,000 Norwich Public Utility customers Monday afternoon after a car struck a utility pole on Boswell Avenue.

NPU posted on its Facebook page that power had been restored to all customers by 6:30 p.m. In order to replace the pole safely, NPU said it had to interrupt electric service.
