    Essex Police Incident Report for April 25 to 28

    The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

    Wednesday, April 25

    • A 15 year-old and a 13 year-old were arrested at 3:41 p.m. and charged with breach of peace and falsely reporting an incident. Troop F received a phone call on the Suicide Hot Line from a young male who reported that he was in the Cumberland Farms Parking lot and that he or another young man was suicidal and in possession of a firearm. Investigators determined the call was a prank and that no firearm was involved. Both juveniles were referred to the Juvenile Review Board.

    • A 22 year-old Hartford man was issued a citation at 5:23 a.m. for failure to drive right after he lost control of the 2002 Dodge Caravan he was operating an struck a tree. The operator refused medical attention. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Trooper April Pawlow investigated.

    Thursday, April 26

    • No arrests were made.

    • A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated at 136 Westbrook Road by Officer James Kenefick at 10:30 a.m.

    Friday, April 27 - Saturday, April 28

    • No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.
