David Dorfman Dance to perform at Conn College
David Dorfman Dance will perform its “(A)Way Out of My Body” Saturday at Connecticut College.
This is a reworked version of the dance that premiered at Conn in February 2020.
The piece investigates the “out of body” experience as a metaphor for our body politic, according to DDD. It “beckons the audience into the otherworldly-ness of dreams, desires, and connectivity, as well as potential new worlds awaiting discovery,” a DDD statement said.
A four-person band led by singer-songwriter Lizzy de Lise accompanies the dancers. The musicians perform an original score.
Dorfman is a professor of dance at Conn College, and David Dorfman Dance is the school’s Company-in-Residence.
“(A)Way Out of My Body,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Athey Center, Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College, New London; $28 general, $25 seniors, $14 students; (860) 439-ARTS (2787), conncoll.edu.
