Olde Mistick Village hosts Ice in the Village

Olde Mistick Village gets into the winter spirit with its Ice in the Village festivities this weekend.

The family-friendly event will boast ice sculptures and ice carving demonstrations, as well as contests.

Visitors can view ice sculptures starting at 5 p.m. Friday, and they can watch an ice sculpture carving demonstration at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Gazebo.

Folks can participate in scavenger hunts on Saturday and Sunday.

And then there are the costume contests, with winners announced Sunday night and trophies (provided by Make Your Mark Customs) going to the top three princesses and pirates. Kids and families can enter throughout the weekend by sharing costume pix using the hashtag #IceInTheVillage.

Oh, and treat-happy awards go to the top three dogs, too.
