Broadway producer Tom Viertel is stepping down from the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s board of trustees after almost 30 years, including 24 as chairman.
The Planning and Zoning Commission ruled the 280 campsite project proposed for 65 acres near the intersection of Routes 2 and 164 was incompatible with the surrounding neighborhood.
A revised proposal for a 55-plus housing development on Route 1 is back in front of the Zoning Commission, however this time with fewer buildings on 11.4 acres bordered by Latimer Brook.
Police have arrested two juveniles, ages 13 and 14, on charges they tried to break into and set fire to a building with commercial and residential tenants at 159 Boston Post Road.
